Wyndley Closure: Monday Sept 6th to Sunday Sept 19th (inclusive)

The pool will be closed for this two week period while work is carried out on construction of the new 'Boom'.

For those Members who normally attend BSC sessions at Wyndley:

Birmingham Water Festival (16th Oct)

This is a new initiative, designed to offer Birmingham Swimmers (age 8/9/10 Yrs on 16th Oct), Volunteers (new and experienced), and Officials (qualified and trainee) the opportunity to take part in a gala which is intended for up and coming swimmers who have limited/no experience of competitive swimming (there are no qualifying times). Cash is preferred for Entry Fees (if you pay by cheque, please make it payable to 'Boldmere SC'). You can complete your entry form electronically and send to phillittler938@hotmail.com as an attachment. (Hand entry fees in at the BSC desk). Swimming Times Magazine - Update

We have had a great response for the cut price copies of the Swimming Times and already have the three people required to qualify for the reduction. Dave Price will be submitting the documentation at the end of this month - so if you want to take advantage of the reduced price offer make sure you let Dave know at dave@metro2web.co.uk so he can add you to the schedule.

RECOGNITION FOR TWO BSC STALWARTS

The Club is proud to announce that David Geiss and Dave Marsh have been recognised by the ASA for their enduring and outstanding contributions to their sport. David has been awarded the Regional Aquaforce award for his 50 years of commitment to Water Polo in the County and Region, while Dave has been acknowledged for the many roles he has taken on to support swimmers of all abilities since 1964 - and in particular his outstanding contribution to Boldmere SC since 1985. Both of our Regional Aquaforce Winners - who are pictured (above) receiving certificates from the Chairman - will be invited to the ASA National Gala Dinner in October. Congratulations to both Daves from all BSC members - past and present.

Surprise Presentation to Head Coach Ash Cox!



Following a collection by Boldmere parents and swimmers Head Coach Ash Cox was presented with a set of surprise wedding gifts by Club Chairman Phil Littler during his last training session before his wedding on 31st July.

Good luck to Ash and bride Louisa who will be jetting off on a three-week holiday to America for their honeymoon after the big day.

Worcester Open Update (Posted 2nd September 2010)

The third set of entries has now been sent to Worcester SC, making a new record number of entries for the Worcester Open from Boldmere with a grand total of 45 swimmers and 329 swims - 30 girls entered into 221 races and 15 boys competing in another 108.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS (Updated 31st August)

September 25th (1.00pm - 7.00pm): This is THE event in our calendar when ALL members (age 7 - 70+yrs) meet to celebrate the progress and achievements of BSC members of ALL AGES AND ABILITIES. CLICK HERE to download an entry form.

We have now received half of the anticipated 175 entries...if you have not entered yet, you have less than two weeks to submit your entry from: the closing date for entries is 9th September. Ellie Simmonds trained with BSC - her home club - for two days following her triumphs at the IPC World Championships. Ellie displays her haul of medals - including Four S6 Golds (400F/S (WR), 50F/S, 200IM (WR), 100F/S (WR)) and her first international relay medal (4x100F/S Silver) before joining her clubmates at two Wyndley sessions.
